UFC Releases Middleweight Slugger Luiz Cane

Middleweight slugger Luiz Cane (12-5, 1 NC) becomes the latest fighter to be released from the UFC in recent weeks.

Cane's manager Alex Davis confirmed the news to Brazilian media outlet Tatame on Thursday.

Cane recently suffered his fourth defeat in five outings after coming up short to Chris Camozzi on the scorecards at UFC 153 earlier this month. The 31-year-old's three other recent losses came in the form of technical knockouts at the hands of Stanislav Nedkov, Cyrille Diabate and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

During the two-year skid, the Brazilian scored just one victory; a TKO of Eliot Marshall at last year's UFC 128.
