UFC Lightweight Anthony Pettis Hospitalized With Elbow Infection

The injuries keep piling for UFC lightweight contender Anthony Pettis (15-2), as the former WEC champ was hospitalized on Monday with a skin infection in his elbow, Inside MMA Live first reported.

The injury comes just one week after Pettis suffered a sprained shoulder in training. The 28-year-old has been sidelined since a February knockout win over Joe Lauzon due to a series of shoulder injuries which eventually required surgery.

"Wow! One thing after another," Pettis tweeted on Monday.

Currently riding a two-fight win streak, including victories over Lauzon and Jeremy Stephens, Pettis is targeting a scrap with fellow division standout Donald Cerrone for early 2012.
