Report: Strikeforce Champ Luke Rockhold Injured, Out Of November 3 Title Defense Against Lorenz Larkin

The injury bug appears to have struck Strikeforce's November 3 in a major way for a second time.

According to a report by MMAFighting.com's Ariel Helwani late Sunday, reigning Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold (10-1) suffered a wrist injury in training and is forced to withdraw from his upcoming title defense against Lorenz Larkin (13-0, 1 NC).

Strikeforce officials have yet to comment on the report.

The report comes just weeks after headliner Frank Mir was forced from a scheduled clash with Daniel Cormier due to injury. With only three weeks to go, Zuffa officials have yet to name a replacement opponent for Cormier.

Showtime recently pulled the plug on Strikeforce's September 29 card after headliner and reigning lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez suffered an injury and could not defend his crown against contender Pat Healy. Should network officials decide to scrap Strikeforce's November 3 event, it would mark Zuffa's third cancelled event in two months.
