Report: Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Targeted For February

Rashad Evans (17-2-1) will likely return to action this February against fellow division standout Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (20-5).

Brazil's SporTV reported the potential match on Wednesday.

While no event number is known at this point, the bout is expected to take place on February 2 during the UFC's annual Superbowl weekend card.

Evans will look to rebound from only the second defeat of his career after coming up short to reigning light heavyweight champ and longtime rival Jon Jones last April. Prior to the defeat, the former light heavyweight titleholder put together a four-fight win streak, including victories over Thiago Silva, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Tito Ortiz and Phil Davis.

Nogueira, meanwhile, recently snapped a two-fight losing skid when he stopped Ortiz with strikes at UFC 140 last December. The Brazilian was expected to face rising standout Alexander Gustafsson last April, though, was sidelined for all of 2012 with a knee injury.
