Following Fan Demand, Kickboxing Star Tyrone Spong Moved To 'World Series Of Fighting 1' Main Card

Kickboxing star Tyrone Spong (0-0 MMA, 68-6-1 Kickboxing) will make his MMA debut on the big stage — NBC Sports — at World Series of Fighting 1 on November 3.

The decorated kickboxing champ will take on fellow knockout artist Travis Bartlett (7-2) in a light heavyweight scrap at the promotion's inaugural event from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The bout was originally scheduled for the undercard, which streams live on Sherdog.com, however, due to a high volume of fan demand, has since been moved to the main card.

"It's official. Tyrone Spong is on the main card!", promotion officials tweeted on Tuesday.

A member of the Blackzilians camp alongside Alistair Overeem, Rashad Evans, and Vitor Belfort, the 27-year-old Spong makes the transition to MMA after 11 years as a professional kickboxer; a career which includes wins over Peter Aerts and Melvin Manhoef

WSOF 1 will air live on NBC Sports — formerly the Versus Network — and is headlined by a heavyweight scrap between former UFC champ Andrei Arlovski and Strikeforce vet Devin Cole. Additional bouts include Anthony "Rumble" Johnson vs. D.J. Linderman, Miguel Torres vs. Marlon Moraes, Gregor Gracie vs. Tyson Steele and Gerald Harris vs. Josh Burkman
