Brad Pickett vs. Eddie Wineland Booked For December's UFC 155
A scrap between fellow world-ranked bantamweights Brad Pickett (22-6) and Eddie Wineland (19-8-1) has been booked for December's UFC 155.
UFC officials announced the match on Monday.
UFC 155 takes place on December 29 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena, and is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between reigning champ Junior dos Santos and ex-titleholder Cain Velasquez. Additional bouts include Forrest Griffin vs. Phil Davis, Chris Weidman vs. Tim Boetsch, Gray Maynard vs. Joe Lauzon and Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami.
Pickett will look to secure his third straight win after scoring consecutive stoppages over Damacio Page and Yves Jabouin in recent months. In his latest trip to the Octagon, the WEC veteran knocked out Jabouin in his hometown of Nottingham, England, to earn "Knockout of the Night" honors at UFC on FUEL TV 5.
Wineland too found success in his most recent outing, knocking out fellow division standout Scott Jorgensen last June. The victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for the 28-year-old — a pair of decision defeats to former title contenders Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez.
