Jason Fischer vs. Kyle Prepolec

Round 1: Early exchange of kicks between both fighters land. Fischer attempts a takedown early on, content to keep Prepolec pinned to the cage. Two fighters break away and begin exchanging kicks again in the center of the cage. Stiff jab by Prepolec before securing a takedown. Heel hook attempt by Fischer before both return to the feet. Flurry of punches and kicks from Prepolec connect before Fischer lands a takedown of his own. Fischer controlling from top position but doing little with it. 

10-9 round for Fischer. 

Round 2: Fischer lands a big slam off a missed Prepolec head kick in the opening seconds. Prepolec back to his fight early on. Fischer gets the fight back to the ground, but again, doing little with the position. Fischer lands a few short elbows before Prepolect returns to his feet only to take his opponent down. Fischer once again secures top position after a brief scramble. Fischer improves to side mount and locks in an armbar to a triangle attempt. Once again fishing for the armbar. 

Yet another 10-9 round for Fischer. 

Round 3: Big straight right, head kick combo from Fischer following the opening bell of the third. Body shot followed by two clean body kicks by Fischer before pinning his opponent to the cage. Fischer secures yet another slam and brings it into familiar territory. Fischer moves to full mount before taking his opponent's back and fishing for a rear-naked choke. Eventual arm triangle wins the fight for Fischer. 

Result: Jason Fischer def. Kyle Prepolec via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:19 of round 3



Ainsley Robinson vs. Chad Laprise

Round 1: Robinson fire the first shots before the two exchange briefly at the center of the cage. Robinson throwing with force, but wildly. Hook from Laprise drops his opponent before landing a series of staggering uppercuts. Robinson returns fire with a hard hook, but eats a ton of shots in the process. Both fighters swinging with a ton of force. Robinson recovers well and secures a double leg. Laprise returns to his feet in little time. Robinson throwing all power shots, Laprise returning with calculated punches. Laprise picking the wrestler apart with shots against the cage. Laprise once again drops Robinson with a straight. Two back to their feet. Robinson staggers the Canadian with a card shot in the closing seconds.

10-9 round for Laprise. 

Round 2: Robinson rushes wildly with a barrage of punches in the opening seconds, landing some power shots during the encounter. Robinson shoots for an unsuccessful takedown before both fighters return to the feet. Robinson swinging for the fences and catching his opponent with more frequency. Laprise getting off with a series of hooks before stuffing a Robinson takedown attempt. Both fighters back to the feet and exchanging heavy shots, including a staggering Laprise knee to the body. 

Close round for both fighters, but a slight 10-9 nod for Laprise once again. 

Round 3: Laprise lands hard out of the gates. Two stiff shots to the chin land for Laprise before unloading a barrage of body shots. Spinning back elbow attempt from Laprise nearly lands. Hard cross from Laprise lands as Robinson appears to have little gas left in the tank. Easy takedown for Laprise on the Canadian Olympic wrestler. Laprise passes to his opponent's back as he locks in a rear-naked choke. No success on the choke, but Laprise rides out the position until the closing bell.

Easy 10-9 round for Laprise.

Dom O'Grady vs. A.J. Matthews

Round 1: O'Grady lands a number of solid hooks early on. Matthews answers with a hard body kick. Matthews land back-to-back left hooks but O'Grady answers with a shot of his own. Matthews shoots for a takedown but O'Grady secures a guillotine attempt. Matthews escapes and calls the fight back to the feet. O'Grady fires off a pair of hooks before unloading a barrage of body shots. O'Grady staggers his opponent with yet another series of hooks before pinning Matthews against the cage. 

Close round for O'Grady, 10-9. 

Round 2: Matthews drops O'Grady in the opening seconds with a head kick but doesn't follow his opponent to the ground. Two fighters return to the feet before Matthews lands a stiff hook. Matthews lands a stiff straight to open a cut under O'Grady's right eye. Matthews flicks a head kick before landing a hard left hook. O'Grady drops his opponent with a hard straight and follows to half guard. O'Grady transitions into side mount and back to half guard. 

Round could arguably go 10-9 either direction.

Round 3: O'Grady lands a stiff hook in the opening seconds. Follows the blow with a hard left jab. O'Grady throwing hard hooks a-la Wanderlei Silva before doubling his jab into an uppercut. O'Grady avoiding his opponent's power shots and answering with a pair of hooks and jabs. Both fighters landed a cross square on the others' chin. Matthews unloading in the finals seconds before O'Grady shoots for a round-ending double leg.

10-9 round for O'Grady.

Cody Bollinger vs. Shahbulat Shamhalaev

Round 1: Bollinger slips on an early head kick. Groin shot from Bollinger signals a brief break in action. Bollinger again slips on a body kick attempt. Shamhalaev dives into his opponent's guard as Bollinger secures him in rubber guard. Gogoplata attempt from Bollinger before he abandons the hold. The Russian lands some very heavy shots on the ground to bloody his opponent. Shamhalaev continues to land hard shots on the ground as Bollinger turtles up until the finish.

Result: Shambulat Shamhalaev def. Cody Bollinger via TKO (strikes) at 4:49 of round 1

Nayeb Hezman vs. Magomedrasul Khasbulaev

Round 1: Both fighters circle very briefly before Khasbulaev lands a hard fight-ending shot via a straight cross. Quick finish for the Russian.

Simon Marini vs. Ali Mokdad

Round 1: Marini staggers his opponent in the opening seconds with a hard right. Follows the shot by dropping Mokdad with another stiff straight and landing some vicious ground and pound. Mokdad survives and returns the fight to the feet. Marini again throwing with a ton of power and staggers Mokdad with a cross. Mokdad beginning to let his hands go and lands with some short shots and knees in the clinch. Mokdad lands a very hard jab to stun the Canadian briefly. Big takedown from Marini seals the round in the closing seconds.

10-9 round for Marini.

Round 2: Cageside doctor checks a cut in Mokdad's ear before the round but allows the fighter to continue. Mokdad relying on body kicks, though, his opponent answers with a series of heavy punches. Mokdad beginning to throw his hands now and finds a home for a few of them. Both fighters start swinging wildly against the fence with Mokdad getting the better of the exchange. Hard right hook from Marini connects on his opponent. 

10-9 round in favor of Mokdad.

Round 3: Mokdad opens the round with his kicks once again. Marini lands a few hard rights but only throwing one punch at a time. Mokdad beginning to use his combos nicely. Mokdad answers with some hard shots of his own. Marini finding a home for his power shots with more frequency before attempting an unsuccessful takedown. Both fighters exchanging heavy shots in the final minute of the fight. Both fighters landing hard. Mokdad connecting with a one-two in the finals seconds.

Slight 10-9 round in the direction of Mokdad.

Mike Richman vs. Jeremy Spoon - Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinal Fight

Round 1: Richman comes out and lands a fight-ending head kick within seconds of the opening bell. No follow-up shots needed.

Wagnney Fabiano vs. Akop Stepanyan - Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinal Fight

Round 1: Fabiano rushes in with a one-two combo before shooting for a failed takedown. The Russian answers with a stiff shot of his own followed by a sharp body kick. Fabiano again attempts for a takedown and lands it after a brief struggle. Fabiano transitions to side mount before securing an armbar that eventually signals the end. 

Result: Wagney Fabiano def. Akop Stepanyan via submission (armbar) at 3:24 of round 1 


Rad Martinez vs. Nazareno Malegarie - Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinal Fight

Round 1: Both fighters come out of the gates trading short power shots. Malegarie bleeding from the nose in the opening seconds. Martinez throwing more power, Malegarie landing with more frequency. Malegarie lands a barrage of punches on his opponent before eating a hard shot from Martinez. Each fighter landing hard, but Malegaries nose is a mess. Martinez lands a beautiful takedown in the final ten seconds. 

10-9 round for Rad Martinez. 

Round 2: Martinez opens the round with a stiff body kick. Malegarie answers with a sharp combo of his own. Malegarie landing some hard shots on his opponent against the cage. Martinez responds with a takedown attempt but to no avail. Both fighters exchanging wildly and connecting equally. Martinez comes back with a vicious three-punch combo. 

Extremely close round. Could easily go 10-9 either side. 

Round 3: Both fighters battered badly coming out of the gate. A Martinez takedown follows a few connected shots from Malegarie. Martinez visibly tiring but still landing the hard shots. Malegarie staggers his opponent before Martinez returns heavy fire with a series of jabs and straights. Martinez drops Malegarie with a hard right straight and follows up with a takedown. 

10-9 round for Martinez. 

Result: Rad Martinez def. Nazareno Malegarie via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)



Eddie Alvarez vs. Patricky "Pitbull" Freire

Round 1: Alvarez stalking Pitbull early on being careful not to walk into his opponent's power. Alvarez drops Pitbull with a hard right but the Brazilian returns to his feet and staggers Alvarez badly. Alvarez clinches Pitbull against the cage to regain his composure, the Brazilian's nose bloodied. Alvarez staggered once again from a superman punch and follow-up shots. Alvarez lands a huge head kick to put the Brazilian away.

Result: Eddie Alvarez def. Patricky Freire via KO (head kick) at 4:54 of round 1
