Ray Sefo Launches 'World Series Of Fighting' Promotion; NBC Sports Network Broadcast Deal In Place

World Series of Fighting (WSOF) — the newest mixed martial arts organization to make waves — launched Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas, announcing major moves in the process.

Advertising and marketing mogul Sig Rogich will serve as the company's CEO, while K-1 kickboxing legend and MMA veteran Ray Sefo will assume the role of president for the promotion. MMAWC, a Nevada-based company founded in 2011, will be the WSOF's backer.

During a press conference on Thursday at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, promotion officials announced a slew of signings, including Rolles Gracie, Tyrone Spong, Thales Leites, JZ Cavalcante, Gerald Harris, Josh Burkman, Miguel Torres and Bobby Lashley

"Running a fight organization like the World Series of Fighting is the natural next step for me in my career," Sefo said. "I've been in the fight business a long time — more than 20 years — and I understand how it works from the inside out.

"I'm ready to stand behind this brand of MMA and bring it to a national audience."

WSOF's inaugural event is scheduled for November 3 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and will air live on the NBC Sports Network — formerly the Versus Network — and is expected to be headlined by former WEC champ and UFC vet Miguel Torres
