Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares To Headline 'UFC On FX 6' On December 15
A middleweight tilt between division standouts Hector Lombard (31-3-1) and Rousimar Palhares (14-4) has been booked for this December.
UFC President Dana White announced the bout on Friday.
The pair will headline UFC on FX 6 on December 15 in Australia, though a city and venue are yet to be named. The card will also feature the finals of "The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. U.K.".
Lombard recently came up short in his UFC debut after a close-fought split decision with Tim Boetsch at July's UFC 149. Prior to the bout, the former Bellator middleweight champ was riding a 25-fight unbeaten streak, including victories over James Te-Huna, Brian Ebersole and Alexander Shlemenko.
Palhares too will look to bounce back from defeat after suffering a brutal technical knockout loss to Alan Belcher in May. The loss snapped a three-fight win streak, as the Brazilian submission standout bested the likes of Dave Branch, Dan Miller, and Mike Massenzio.
