Severe Cut Forces Rory MacDonald Out Of UFC 152 Bout With B.J. Penn
A severe cut sustained in training has forced Rory MacDonald out of next month's UFC 152 card. The fast-rising welterweight was scheduled to face former champ B.J. Penn at the upcoming event.
UFC President Dana White announced the news during Saturday's UFC on FOX 4 post-fight press conference, however, did not confirm of Penn will remain on the card.
UFC 152 takes place on September 22 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre and is headlined by a flyweight title clash between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson to crown the promotion's first-ever 125-pound champion. In the co-main event, Michael Bisping takes on Brian Stann in a pivotal middleweight clash.
