Martin Kampmann vs. Johny Hendricks Official For UFC 154 Co-Headliner On November 17
A number one contender bout between welterweight standouts Martin Kampmann (20-5) and Johny Hendricks (13-1) will serve as the UFC 154 co-headliner this November.
The bout was made official during Tuesday's edition of "UFC Tonight" on FUEL TV.
UFC 154 takes place on November 17 at Montreal's Bell Centre and is tentatively scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight title unification bout between reigning champ Georges St-Pierre and interim titleholder Carlos Condit.
A six-year UFC vet, Kampmann finally finds himself atop the welterweight ladder on the heels of a three-fight win streak. After notching a unanimous decision over Rick Story last November, the Xtreme Couture representative went on to score back-to-back stoppage victories over Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger respectively.
Hendricks is also on a streak of his own, having found success in his last four outings. A unanimous decision defeat to Story stands as the lone loss of his professional career, however, the 28-year-old has since bounced back with wins over T.J. Waldburger, Mike Pierce, Jon Fitch, and most recently, Josh Koscheck.
