Legendary Trainer Matt Hume Named ONE FC Vice President Of Operations And Competition


ONE Fighting Championship has announced the appointment of legendary MMA trainer Matt Hume as Vice President of Operations and Competition. Hume’s primary responsibilities include matchmaking and talent recruitment, managing standards in rules and regulations, and guardian of ONE FC’s show experience. 


Prior to joining ONE FC, Matt Hume served as a world class trainer, promoter, sanctioning body president, referee, event judge, rule director, matchmaker, television commentator and author. Hume earned respect in and outside of the cage for his MMA skills as a fighter as well as his understanding of the MMA business.

“Matt Hume is one of the pioneers of MMA," said ONE FC CEO Victor Cui in a release. "Before the sport had gained any exposure or publicity, Matt had dedicated his life to building the sport and developing world-class fighters. Matt has done just about everything one can do for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. ONE FC is thrilled to have such an incredible MMA expert on board, and with his talent, influence and experience, we will continue to produce the greatest TV and live in-house experience in the world and forge ahead with signing the very top fighters on this planet.”

ONE FC’s next event will be on 31 August at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. The event features a bantamweight clash between Bibiano Fernandes and Gustavo Falciroli, as well as a host of other notable fighters including three members of the Gracie family, Andrei Arlovski, Tim Sylvia, Jens Pulver and Filipino champions Eduard Folayang and Eric Kelly.
