Demian Maia vs. Rick Story Booked For October's UFC 153

A welterweight tilt between division standouts Demian Maia (16-4) and Rick Story (14-5) has been added to October's UFC 153.


UFC officials announced the booking on Tuesday.


UFC 153 takes place on October 13 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is headlined by a featherweight title clash between reigning champion Jose Aldo and fellow WEC vet Erik Koch. Additional bouts for the fall event include Vitor Belfort vs. Alan Belcher, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira and Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva.


Maia recently found success in his welterweight debut at July's UFC 148, scoring a 47-second technical knockout over Dong Hyun Kim. The victory marked his fourth in six outings, having also bested the likes of Kendall Grove and Jorge Santiago.


Story too picked up a win in his latest trip to the Octagon, notching a unanimous decision victory over Brock Jardine at UFC on FX 4 last month. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for the 27-year-old.
