Ronda Rousey vs. Sarah Kaufman Official For August 18 In San Diego

As expected, a Strikeforce women's bantamweight clash between recently-crowned star Ronda Rousey (5-0) and division standout Sarah Kaufman (15-1) will go down this August. 


Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed the bout during a media conference call on Tuesday.


The pair will meet at Strikeforce's August 18 card at San Diego's Valley View Casino Center, though no additional bouts have been announced. 


Rousey, who remains undefeated, recently captured the women's bantamweight crown after submitting Miesha Tate with a first-round armbar, bringing her total combined fight time to just 7:15. All five of "Rowdy's" career victories have come by way of armbar in under five minutes.


Kaufman, a former women's bantamweight champion, is currently riding a three-fight win streak including a recent majority decision over Alexis Davis last March. The win marked her seventh under the Strikeforce banner, having also bested the likes of Miesha Tate, Shayna Baszler and Roxanne Modafferi.
