Charlie Brenneman vs. Erick Silva Targeted For 'UFC On FX 3'

A welterweight showdown between Charlie Brenneman (15-3) and Erick Silva (13-2, 1 NC) appears to be in the works for June's UFC on FX 3 event.

Brazilian media outlet SporTV first reported the bout on Saturday.

UFC on FX 3 takes place on June 8 and marks the promotion's third live event on the FOX-owned cable network FX. Headlining the event will be a flyweight tournament semi-finals rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall who fought to a majority draw last month.

Brenneman found success in his most recent outing, earning a unanimous decision victory over Daniel Roberts at January's UFC on FX 1 event. The win boosted his Octagon record to 4-2, having also defeated the likes of Jason High and Rick Story during his two-years with the UFC.

Silva, meanwhile, faced a controversial defeat to Carlo Prater in his last trip to the Octagon after being disqualified for landing strikes to the back of his opponent's head. Prior to the loss, the 27-year-old Brazilian standout went unbeaten in ten-consecutive bouts, capturing the Jungle Fight welterweight championship in the process.
